# How to configure configurable constants?

According to Sway Playbook Configurable Constants act similarly to `immutable` variables in solidity. [Constants - The Sway Programming Language](https://fuellabs.github.io/sway/v0.61.1/book/basics/constants.html#configurable-constants)

However the Configurable Constants: ` can be configured after the Sway program has been built.`

How do you configure them and will they become the newly configured constants permanently?
